COLOMBO, 16 JUNE 1948 Colombo (Ceylon) 16th June 1948 DECLARATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF THE OBLIGATIONS CONTAINED IN THE CHARTER OF THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANISATION In the name of Ceylon, I, Don Stephen Senanayake, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and External Affairs declare that Ceylon hereby accepts without any reservation the obligations of the Charter of the United Nations and promises to keep them inviolably from the day when she becomes a member of the United Nations.
